My first true hack: I was able to decode the output signals that the neck of a subpar Yamaha MIDI guitar was providing and built my own MIDI guitar around that. I could have built it almost entirely from scraps and spare parts if the laser cutter would have cut through some weird oak plywood that I had found. But I’m happy with the new softwood body as well.
